WHFC Assembly 2025 Strengthens Global Halal Vision in Manila
Manila, October 28–29, 2025 — Leaders of the global halal industry gathered at the Shangri-La EDSA Hotel in Manila, Philippines, for the World Halal Food Council (WHFC) Assembly 2025, held in conjunction with the HDIP International Halal Conference.
Carrying the theme “Advancing Halal Science and Technology for Food Security and Consumer Satisfaction,” the two-day program united government representatives, industry experts, researchers, and halal authorities from around the world to discuss the future of halal governance, innovation, and integrity.

Shared Opening, Separate Agendas
The conference opened with welcoming remarks from HDIP, followed by addresses from WHFC officials, Philippine government representatives, and regional embassies including Malaysia, Brunei, and Thailand. The opening ceremony reflected a strong commitment to international cooperation in advancing halal standards and scientific development.
After lunch on the first day, the program divided into two separate tracks.
One session continued under the HDIP International Halal Conference, featuring presentations on halal science, technology, and consumer trust. The other was an exclusive WHFC meeting, attended by member Halal Certification Bodies (HCBs), focusing on strategic discussions to shape the Council’s direction and strengthen its social and humanitarian impact.
The WHFC session emphasized unity, collaboration, and the importance of aligning policies to better serve the global Muslim community.

THIDA’s Active Contribution
Among the key participants was the Taiwan Halal Integrity Development Association (THIDA), which attended as a founding and executive member of WHFC representing the Asia Zone. THIDA sent a six-member delegation, including its Vice President, to actively participate in policy discussions and conference sessions.

Dialogue, Culture, and Collaboration
The two-day event featured a mix of panel sessions and networking opportunities that explored halal tourism, food safety, sustainable halal food systems, and laboratory standardization. Speakers highlighted how science and innovation could enhance halal credibility while supporting global food security.
The first day concluded with a gala dinner, where guests enjoyed traditional Filipino dance and musical performances, symbolizing both cultural appreciation and international friendship.
The second day brought all participants back together for broader discussions and technical exchanges. Delegates shared their visions for the next generation of halal certification and sustainable industry growth, reinforcing a collective mission toward harmonization and integrity.

A Step Forward for the Global Halal Community
By the close of the assembly, participants reaffirmed their commitment to advancing WHFC’s strategic objectives and strengthening global collaboration in halal governance. The Manila gathering served as more than a policy meeting, it was a reflection of shared purpose and unity among halal institutions worldwide.
For organizations like THIDA, the experience reinforced a simple truth: the future of halal lies not only in regulation, but in collaboration, innovation, and the sincere effort to serve humanity through trust and integrity.
